IRCTC down: Indian Railways e-ticketing service unavailable on website and app – Here’s why

IRCTC website down: Indian Railways passengers faced significant challenges booking train tickets today due to a disruption affecting the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and app. 

According to status tracking tool Downdetector, users experienced difficulties accessing both the IRCTC platform and mobile application. Around 50% of website users were unable to access the site, while 40% and 10% of app users faced issues with app functionality and booking tickets, respectively.

Reports suggest that the outage began around 10 AM, affecting users attempting to use the IRCTC services. Passengers reported issues such as being unable to log in, errors when searching for train schedules or fares, and trouble completing ticket booking transactions.

IRCTC website down for maintenance work

“Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available for the next one hour. Please try later. For cancellation/file tdr, please call at customer care no. 14646, 0755-6610661 & 0755-4090600 or mail at etickets@irctc.co.in,” said IRCTC on its website.

Many users shared their frustrations on X (formerly known as Twitter), posting about the disruptions and seeking updates on the status of the IRCTC platform.
