Aadhaar card update: Last chance to update photo, address for free

 

If you want to update details like your photo, address, or other information on your Aadhaar card, you can still do it for free. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar updates to December 14.

Take advantage of this opportunity by visiting the My Aadhaar portal. This offer is particularly beneficial if your Aadhaar is 10 years old and has not been updated yet.

WHAT DETAILS CAN BE UPDATES?

You can update the following details on your Aadhaar card:

• Photo

• Address

• Name

• Gender

• Date of Birth

• Mobile number

• Email ID

To update your Aadhaar, you may need documents like a ration card, voter ID, passport, or address proof.

OFFLINE UPDATE PROCESS

If you prefer offline updates, visit your nearest Aadhaar centre. A fee of Rs 50 will apply for offline updates.

ONLINE UPDATE PROCESS

For online updates, follow these steps:

1. Visit the Aadhaar Website

   Go to My Aadhar official website

2. Login with OTP

   Use your Aadhaar number, and the OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

3. Update Your Details

   Select the details you want to update and upload the necessary proof. Ensure the file size is under 2 MB and in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.

4. Submit Your Request

   After reviewing, submit your changes. There are no charges for updates done online.
